Hi Guys,

Occasionally while falling asleep i experience my limbs jerking which wakes me up and is just a minor annoyance. Similarly to this, i sometimes experience protracted screaming/yelling/shrieking, which to me sounds like im just quietly moaning (though, i suppose is scary at the time, though i dont pay much attention as im not really quite all there), but to the lucky ladies sharing the bed with me, its really me yelling at the top of my lungs- as you would if someone threw you off a cliff- ive been told. The second i wake from this im am not scared at all or onlyvery briefly as i recognize whats going on, its almost funny, quite often, my partners are quite freaked out by it and need consoling Smiley This only last a few seconds and can happen several times a night and exclusively while drifting off.  dont know if this qualifies as a night terror or what, I find it curious and slightly embarrassing but thats it. No visuals or bad dreams or anything? Just involuntary yelling for a few (up to 5-10?) seconds as im drifting off and as soon as im awake i wanna go back to sleep but sometimes have some 'splaining to do.....

Pure specualtion on my part, but this may be the result of me feeling like i stopped breathing or am falling or something but i dont remember as im not awake and experience just the aftermath....Huh??  What do you   guys think? Thanks in advance.

Do you have breathing problems? I'm curious because nearly every time  when freshly awakened (as I am now) from a night terror I notice straight away that my nose is very congested. I don't know if the "nightmare" or "night terror" or whatever the h^%$! it is that won't let me sleep normally is connected with breathing issues.

Could apnea be at the bottom of this?
