So, let me explain whats up.  First experience with SP was months ago, but less than a year ago.  It only lasted a couple seconds.  Second time, a few months ago, lasted about 10 or 15 seconds, but definitely more intense.  Last night I had my third experience and it was by far more intense than the first two.  I had a typical dream and at some point, not clear when, a dark, bronze-ish demon figure entered my thoughts.  I then woke up and thought for sure that the demon was in the room with me.  It was just out of view, waiting or something, doing who knows what.  This is the point where I was on my back and could not move.  I was terrified.  I also remember thinking I was still completely dreaming and that if I could only roll myself off my bed I would wake up and it would be fine (in retrospect these thoughts were a little contradictory lol).  Fortunately I recognized it was the same thing that's happened to me before.  I knew there was nothing in the room no matter how much it felt like there was and kept telling myself "relax, your alone and the paralysis will pass shortly."  I soon was able to move my fingers but could not move the rest of my body for about 20-30 seconds more.  It was hard to tell how long it lasted really.

Here are my questions, if anyone could help or share their experiences that would be great.

-Will my sleep paralysis episodes continue to get more and more intense and possibly more frequent?

-How long do other peoples episodes last on average before gaining full mobility/awareness?  I was reading and seems like the dark figures in other peoples experiences were doing a whole lot more than the one in mine.

It is weird to read such similar experiences from others and has got me very interested in the topic now.

Thanks for all your help.

it seems we have had similar experiences, i too just found this site and was amazed at the people with similar stories.
although yours and mine are much alike, tho i wouldnt call the apparition in my dream a demon, i would say its very frieghtening to believe there is someone or something in the doorway or corner of the room that shouldnt be there. and "awakening" and not being able to move or completely wake yourself up is terrifiying.
ive been having this happen for 40 years, and only now has it been getting more frequent. about twice a week for the last two months. why? i have no idea
my paralysis usually lasts for 30 seconds or so, but thats only after i'm completely awake, thats the hard part, waking up.
i have a dream, which turns into a nightmare, and then im still dreaming, but thinking to myself, "i have to wake up now" and  trying to shout or move or anything, but i cant.
now its starting to happen more than once a nite, so i decided its time to find out whats going on. this site has helped alot. next step is to see if learning about it will help it to stop, if not, i'll try a doctor or meds.
since ive posted on this site i havent had an episode. keep your fingers crossed and sleep well.
