This is a picture that was sent in by a 41 year old male who jumped out of a single pane window during a night terror. Notice the window had a curtain, metal blinds, and a layer of styrofoam (for insulation) on the inside. The outside also had a storm window. The person this happened to ended up on the porch covered in blood, in pain, with a very rapid heart rate, pale and startled.

I really like how they target the ads based on the post.  The above ads have been about replacement windows and window blinds every time I have looked.  Cheesy  He needs both from the looks of the picture.

That's truely frightening...  An old elementary school classmate of mine had a simila experience where she was sleepwalking and jumped out of her third story bedroom window, breaking her hip from the fall.  Besides the emotional consequences of night terrors, the physically harmful possibilities are scary too.  Cup o' chamomile for me everynight, I don't want to end up in that kind of situation.

to be honest, and this is just my opinion, sorry if it causes offence.

i don't like to see people's reactions to terrors, reading them is just fine for me, that picture actually scares the wind right out me.

seeing the afterworks of my own episodes is enough never mind other peoples!

Laura,
People find comfort in different things. People have asked me in the past to post some videos or pictures of the destruction a night terror causes so that they do not feel alone. I have recieved many emails thanking me for posting the picture, but also a few who don't like it. I will change the title of the post to warn people about the content.

Laura,
No offense was taken. I just like to make sure people see both sides to a controversial topic.

That is truly terrifying. poor man...
I grew up with a friend, male from the age of 12 to 14 was a habitual sleepwalker. His parents found him sitting outside, at 5 in the morning middle of winter, (i'm talking prairie Canadian winter..-40 without a windchill) with nothing but pyjamas on. He lost two toes from frostbite, and the top of his left ear. I'll never forget that as long as I live.

I almost had the same thing once. Only I didn't ran into the window hard enough to break it. I luckily ended up only hurting a couple of my toes. But I did realised that it could happen some time and moved the bed further away from the window.

That's...a little unsettling. The worst consequences of my night terrors are that I wake up myself (not to mention my entire family) screaming bloody murder. I suppose I am lucky that most often they are coupled with paralysis. I've never actually left my bed during one and after this I hope I never will. Sad

Good luck on finding a understanding docter, wayneo. I'd almost wish a night terror on your current one, just to show him how he feels.  Wink

I'm new to this board, but thankful for it. I have been suffering with night terrors for some time. The picture above looks very much like an incident I was involved in during a night terror episode. I put my elbow through the window in my apartment. Thankfully, I did not jump out, but it was close. After that, I blocked the window with a box spring. Now I live in a one-story house.
